The nutrition industry uses a lot of plastic. While much packaging is designed to keep supplements as fresh as possible, it’s clear that a lot could be done to reduce waste.
One example is plastic scoops. If you purchase a powder supplement, you’ll most likely receive one. You can understand why — it’s a handy way to measure out accurate servings.
Unfortunately, across the industry plastic scoops contribute to hundreds of tonnes of plastic waste every year. And the truth is, it’s likely that not every customer needs a new scoop every time they make a purchase.
Most of you agree — results from a customer survey revealed that only 20-30% prefer to receive a scoop with every purchase. This means that up to 80% of scoops are contributing to plastic waste.

Start small, grow big
That’s where Project Scoopless began. In July 2023, we launched our first scoop-free trial on Iced Coffee flavour of Plant Protein Superblend.
So far the trial has provided us with plenty of valuable insights, which will be used to form the foundations of a wider rollout across many of our products.
But while we aim to reduce plastic waste, customer satisfaction remains our top priority. For this reason, we’re committed to offering you the choice to include a scoop with your order.
