High-Protein 1,000kcal Bulking Burger

Bulking season just got seriously tasty.

The golden rule of bulking is calorie surplus, right? Well, this ultimate meat-feast burger is just the thing to sink your teeth into. Packed with a whopping 1005 calories, it’s a quick and delicious dinner solution to help you hit those daily targets.

Making the burger patty yourself means you can really max out on the meat (and protein) you can squeeze into one bun. Then it’s time to top with all your favourite trimmings — crispy bacon, crunchy lettuce, and caramelised onions is where it’s at.

Ingredients

  • 250 g 20% fat beef mince
  • pinch salt and pepper
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 slice bacon
  • 1 slice cheddar
  • 1 soft white bread bun
  • 1 slice lettuce
  • 1 slice tomato

Instructions

  1. First, add the beef mince to a large mixing bowl and season. Use your hands to break the meat down, then roll into a large ball. Flatten this ball to make a thick patty.

  2. Heat a little oil in a frying pan over a high heat and cook the burger until browned on each side and cooked through the middle.

  3. Halfway through cooking the meat, add your onion slices to the pan and cook for a few minutes to soften as well as the bacon slice. For the final few minutes of cooking the burger, add the slice of cheddar to the top.

  4. Remove the cheddar-topped cooked burger patty and onion slices once ready, and set aside. Toast each half of your burger bun in the pan alongside the bacon.

  5. Once everything is ready, assemble your burger — add the beef patty, bacon, cooked onion, lettuce, tomato slices, and plenty of your sauce of choice. Mega.
